FAQs

Questions, answered.

Everything you might want to know about how the newsletter audit works, what you get, and who it's for.

The audit & what you get

What do you actually review?

We review your recent newsletters, including subject lines, preheaders, layout, copy, calls to action, offers, click motivation, mobile readability and overall strategy.

The aim is to find what is stopping readers from taking action.

What is the newsletter scorecard?

The scorecard is a clear breakdown of how your newsletter performs across the main areas that affect engagement.

It shows what is working, what is weak, and what should be fixed first.

What will I receive?

You will receive a clear audit with your newsletter scorecard, key findings, priority fixes and practical recommendations you can start using straight away.

Depending on the package, this may also include subject line ideas, CTA improvements, campaign structure and a 30-day action plan.

How many newsletters do you review?

For the audit, we usually review 3 recent newsletters. That gives enough of a pattern to see what is working and what is holding the emails back.

What metrics do you look at?

We look at metrics such as open rate, click-through rate, click-to-open rate, unsubscribes, replies, traffic and sales where available.

But we do not just look at numbers. We look at why people are or are not taking action.

How quickly can I use the recommendations?

Most recommendations are designed to be practical and usable in your next few sends.

This is not a 40-page strategy document that sits in a folder. It should give you clear fixes.

What makes this different from a normal marketing audit?

This is focused specifically on newsletters.

The goal is not vague branding advice. The goal is to make your emails clearer, more clickable and more useful to your audience.

Who it's for

Who is this for?

This is for businesses that already send newsletters but feel they should be getting more clicks, replies, traffic or sales from them.

It is especially useful for e-commerce brands, local businesses, service businesses and independent brands with an existing email list.

Do I need a big email list?

No. You do not need a huge list. If you already have people subscribed, the question is whether your emails are giving them enough reason to act.

A smaller engaged list is often more valuable than a large list that barely clicks.

Will this work for a product-based business?

Yes. Product-based businesses often have the most to gain because small improvements in subject lines, layout and CTAs can directly increase clicks and sales.

Will this work for a service business?

Yes. Service businesses can use newsletters to build trust, explain value, stay visible and turn quiet subscribers into enquiries.

Is this suitable if I have never sent a newsletter before?

The audit is best for businesses that have already sent a few newsletters.

If you are starting from scratch, a setup or strategy package may be a better fit.

Results, guarantees & refunds

Do you offer a refund?

Yes. If you do not feel the audit gives you clear, practical ways to improve your newsletter, we will refund you.

Can you guarantee better results?

We cannot control every result because performance also depends on your list quality, offer, product, timing and sending history.

But we can show you exactly where your newsletter is weak and what needs to improve.

Is this just about getting more sales?

No. Sales matter, but a good newsletter should also build trust, increase repeat visits, improve customer loyalty and keep your brand in people's minds.

The goal is to make your newsletter more useful and more effective.

What if my newsletter is already performing well?

Then the audit will help identify where the next gains are.

Even strong newsletters usually have missed opportunities in subject lines, CTAs, structure, segmentation or click motivation.

What if my newsletter is performing badly?

That is exactly when this is useful.

If people are opening but not clicking, or if engagement has dropped, the scorecard helps show what is going wrong and what to fix first.

Scope & extras

Will you write my newsletters for me?

The main focus is improving your newsletter so you can send better emails yourself.

Depending on the package, we can help with structure, subject lines, CTA ideas, content angles and campaign planning.

Do you help with welcome emails?

Yes. A welcome email is often one of the most important emails a business sends. We can review or improve your welcome email as part of a wider newsletter improvement package.

Do you help us get more subscribers?

Yes, depending on the package. Subscriber capture, signup forms, welcome offers and lead magnets can all be reviewed.

There is no point improving newsletters if the right people are not joining the list.

Do you design the email too?

We focus mainly on strategy, structure, copy, CTA flow and clarity.

We can recommend layout improvements, but this is not a full custom email design service unless agreed separately.

Platforms, access & logistics

What platforms do you work with?

We can review newsletters from most email platforms, including Mailchimp, Klaviyo, MailerLite, Shopify Email and similar tools.

The platform matters less than the quality of the newsletter itself.

Do you need access to my email platform?

Not always. In many cases, screenshots, links, campaign exports or forwarded emails are enough for the audit.

If deeper performance data is needed, we may ask for metrics such as open rate, click rate, unsubscribe rate and revenue if available.

What do you need from me to get started?

You will usually need to send 3 recent newsletters and any available performance data.

Useful data includes open rate, click rate, click-to-open rate, unsubscribe rate and sales or website traffic from the campaign.

Is this a monthly service?

Not necessarily. The audit is designed to give you useful improvements without locking you into a monthly retainer.

You can come back later for a re-audit or extra support when needed.

Can we book a re-audit later?

Yes. A re-audit is useful after you have made changes and want to check whether the newsletter is moving in the right direction.

Still have a question?

Tell us about your newsletter and we'll point you to the right package — usually within one working day.
